Cities of the future.

I was listening to the radio this morning (KCRW) and there was a segment from Marketplace about a contest that was conducted with architecture firms about what cities will be like in 100 years.

From their website:

“The History Channel has challenged design teams to share their visions of three cities 100 years from now — and the future’s not as bleak as you might think.”

Really interesting ideas that include the anticipation of global warming and worth a listen.

Making comparisons

It’s something I do that sometimes drives me to a state of madness I must confess. I’m not sure if its intentional but I do think that its appearance in my psyche goes back to my upbringing. “Keeping up with the Jones'” would be a simple way to put it.
